All information and reports generated by the XX Roadmap are indicative only and are generated solely for informational purposes.

The information and reports generated are based on theoretical buildings which are not intended to replace an in-house survey or other specific commercial, financial, technical, or other professional advice. Actual costs, energy savings, and any property price uplifts will depend upon various factors outside of XX’s control, for which XX are not liable.

The costing of retrofit measures was collected in collaboration with SCSI (Society of Chartered Surveyors Ireland), KSN Construction Consultants and a number of material suppliers and contractors in the building sector. This market research was carried out between February 2021 and July 2021. Regarding the costing information, the following must be noted:

  1. Cost are based on a traditional 3 bed house as referenced in the SCSI House Reinstatement Guide.
  2. Costs would not apply for period/ protected houses
  3. Cost are based on a supply and fit rate
  4. All costs are budget only, and would need to be verified once the scope of the project is clear
  5. All costs are budget and do not allow for regional variation

The theoretical case study buildings are based on typical residential typologies in Ireland identified by the TABULA project and the SEAI’s National BER Research Tool. The energy and CO2 demand of the case study buildings are calculated using the DEAP (Dwelling Energy Assessment Procedure) Calculation Workbook Version 4.2 v1.2. The cost of retrofit measures are determined based on the assumed dimensions and technical characteristics of the case study buildings and the costing information collected in collaboration with SCSI, KSN Construction Consultants and a number of material suppliers and contractors in the building sector. The grant information used in the roadmap is based on the Home Energy Grants available to residential buildings in Ireland, which are administered by SEAI. The level of grants available in Q2 2021 are used in the calculations.
